9. Long-term Storage and Preservation

A). DuraCloud:

In an effort to preserve NYARC's web archive collections, we are automatically backing up all of our Archive-It collections to the DuraCloud service at synchronized intervals. More information on Archive-It backups with DuraCloud can be found here.

B): Preservation recommendations:

Karl-Rainer Blumenthal, NYARC's 2014-2015 National Digital Stewardship Resident, drafted the below attached recommendations to address the preservation of NYARC's web archive collections for the future: "Preserving NYARC's Web Archives: A step towards long-term stewardship." This draft was submitted to NYARC and adopted on May 22, 2015.
